Skify Terms of Use
Version 1.0 · Publication date: 26 October 2026
This English version is a convenience translation. The Hebrew version is the binding version; if the two differ, the Hebrew version prevails.
1. Who we are and what this agreement covers
1.1 The service is operated by Itamar Apel (hereinafter: “Skify”). The “service” means the Skify app and everything offered in it.
1.2 These terms are the agreement between you and Skify. They apply to you from the moment you approve them in the app: when you sign up, by ticking the approval box; for a new version, by tapping the approval button (section 16).
1.3 The Community Guidelines form part of these terms, even though they appear in a separate document. The Privacy Policy explains what information the service collects and what is done with it.
1.4 The Hebrew text is the binding text. This English version is a translation for convenience only; if they differ, the Hebrew text prevails.
2. What Skify is — and what it is not
2.1 Skify is a platform that helps skiers and snowboarders find partners. In the service you can post ski trip requests, join groups, chat in group or one-to-one conversations, take part in communities (posts, comments and likes) and browse information about ski resorts.
2.2 Skify is not a trip organizer, a travel agency, an insurer or a ski instructor. Skify is not a party to meetings, trips or arrangements between users, and does not supervise them.
2.3 Skify does not verify users’ identity, age, skiing level, experience or background, and does not run criminal background checks. What appears in profiles and requests is what users themselves provided.
2.4 The decision whom to meet, travel with or ski with is yours alone.
3. Age and eligibility
3.1 The service is for people aged 18 and over only. When you register, you declare your age, and that declaration must be true.
3.2 An account found to belong to someone under 18 will be deleted.
3.3 Children are not users of the service. A family looking for partners: a parent opens and uses the account, and can mark a request as including children.
4. Your account
4.1 You can register with an email address and password, or through a Google account.
4.2 The details you provide must be true and your own: your name, your age and your photo, not someone else’s. Each person may have one account.
4.3 Keep your password safe and do not hand your account over to others. If you suspect someone else has accessed your account, change your password and write to us.
4.4 You are responsible for actions taken in your account, unless they were taken without your knowledge and without negligence on your part in protecting it.
5. Content you post
5.1 “Content” means anything you write or upload to the service: profile details, photos, requests, messages, posts, comments and likes.
5.2 Your content remains yours. You give Skify a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store your content and display it within the service to those the service allows to see it, solely for operating the service. Skify will not use your content for advertising or marketing outside the service, and will not sell it. You remain free to grant rights in your content to others.
5.3 This permission ends when the content is deleted. Content that remains in the service after account deletion, as described in section 12 of the Privacy Policy, continues to be displayed without your name and photo until it is deleted.
5.4 You are responsible for the content you post. You must have the rights to post it, including the consent of people who appear in photos you upload.
5.5 Messages you send in a chat remain visible to the other participants in the conversation, even after you leave the conversation or delete your account.
6. Details of people who are not users
6.1 A group creator can list existing group members who do not use Skify: name, age and ski level. These details are visible to anyone who can see the request.
6.2 Whoever adds such details is responsible for having obtained those people’s consent to publish them. Details of a minor may be added only by the minor’s parent or guardian, or by someone who has their consent.
6.3 Add only what is necessary. A person whose details were added this way may contact us and ask for them to be corrected or deleted.
7. Prohibited content and conduct
7.1 You may not post in the service, or use it to:
- harass, threaten, humiliate or intimidate anyone, or encourage harm to anyone;
- post sexual content or nudity, or send unsolicited sexual advances;
- incite hatred or violence, or discriminate against anyone because of their origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability or age;
- post any content that harms minors or depicts them sexually — Skify will report it to the authorities;
- impersonate another person, give false details about yourself or open an account in someone else’s name;
- post other people’s personal information (address, phone number, photos) without their consent;
- defraud anyone, solicit money under false pretenses or offer dubious deals;
- send spam, advertising or unsolicited commercial messages;
- post illegal content, or content that infringes other people’s copyright, trademarks or privacy;
- encourage others to engage in activity that endangers them or others, such as skiing in terrain the resort has closed;
- harm the service: collect data from it automatically (scraping), run bots, bypass limits or permissions, spread malicious code or try to access other people’s accounts and data.
7.2 Skify has zero tolerance for objectionable content and for users who abuse others. A plain-language explanation is in the Community Guidelines.
8. Reporting, blocking and enforcement
8.1 You can report a chat message from within the app.
8.2 You can also report a profile, a post or a comment from within the app.
8.3 You can block a user from within the app. What blocking does is explained in the app.
8.4 You can always report by email as well: [email protected].
8.5 Skify does not routinely read conversations. Reports are reviewed as soon as possible, and to review a report Skify may look at the reported content. Skify does not tell a reported user who reported them, unless the law requires it.
8.6 Skify may remove content, issue a warning, suspend an account or delete it, depending on the severity of the case, only for these reasons:
- a breach of these terms or of the Community Guidelines;
- a real concern for a person’s safety or security;
- a requirement under law;
- an account of someone under 18;
- an account opened with false details or in another person’s name.
8.7 Where it is possible and safe, Skify will tell you about the action and the reason for it. If you believe a mistake was made, write to us and we will look again.
8.8 In case of danger to life or suspicion of an offense, Skify may pass information to the authorities, in accordance with the law.
9. Skiing, meetings and risk
9.1 Skiing and snowboarding inherently carry a risk of injury. The decision whether, where, when and with whom to ski is yours, and so is the responsibility for:
- skiing within your own ability and experience, and not relying on a level another user declared;
- suitable, working equipment;
- appropriate travel and ski insurance;
- the resort’s rules and instructions, weather conditions and avalanche warnings.
9.2 Skify is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call the local emergency number (in Europe: 112) or the resort’s rescue services.
9.3 Do not use the app while skiing or driving.
9.4 When you meet people you got to know through the service, be careful. Safety tips are in the Community Guidelines.
9.5 This section describes how responsibility is divided for activity that is outside Skify’s control. It does not reduce any liability Skify bears under law (see section 14).
10. Arrangements between users
Arrangements you make with other users — a shared ride, accommodation, splitting costs or any other deal — are between you and them. Skify is not a party to them, does not charge money for them and does not handle payments.
11. Ski resort information
11.1 Ski resort information in the service (names, photos and other details) is gathered from various sources and may be incomplete, out of date or inaccurate. Before you travel, check the information on the resort’s official website.
11.2 Ski resort names and trademarks belong to their owners. A resort appearing in the service does not indicate any connection, partnership or endorsement.
12. Using the app and Skify’s rights
12.1 Skify permits you to use the app for personal use, in accordance with these terms.
12.2 The app, its design, and the Skify name and logo belong to Skify, except for user content and third-party material. You may not copy, modify or distribute them, or try to extract the source code, except to the extent the law allows.
12.3 You may not use the service for commercial purposes without Skify’s prior written approval.
13. Availability of the service and changes to it
13.1 The service is currently free of charge. If paid services are offered in the future, their terms will be shown to you before you are asked to pay.
13.2 Skify makes an effort to keep the service working properly, but faults, interruptions and maintenance may occur.
13.3 Skify may change, add or remove features of the service. If Skify decides to discontinue the service entirely, it will give reasonable advance notice.
14. Liability
14.1 Skify is liable to you in accordance with the law.
14.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skify is not liable for:
- the acts, omissions or content of other users;
- what happens at meetings, on trips or during ski activity between users, which Skify does not organize or supervise;
- inaccuracies in ski resort information, as described in section 11;
- temporary faults and interruptions of the service, as described in section 13.
14.3 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes:
- Skify’s liability for bodily harm;
- Skify’s liability for willful misconduct;
- Skify’s liability under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law;
- any right you have under consumer protection law;
- any other liability or right that, under law, cannot be limited or excluded by agreement.
14.4 You are liable, in accordance with the law, for damage you cause by breaching these terms.
15. Ending your use
15.1 You may stop using the service at any time and delete your account from within the app. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. What is deleted and what remains is set out in section 12 of the Privacy Policy. If you do not have access to the app, you can request deletion at skify.app/en/delete-account; a request by email is handled within 30 days.
15.2 When you delete your account, groups you created pass to their longest-standing member, or are closed if there is no one to pass them to.
15.3 Skify may suspend or delete an account only for the reasons in section 8.6.
15.4 Sections that by their nature are meant to apply after your use ends will continue to apply, including sections 5.3, 6, 14 and 17.
16. Changes to these terms
16.1 Skify may update these terms. Each new version will have a version number and a date.
16.2 A new version will be shown to you in the app, and will apply to you only after you approve it by tapping the approval button. The approval is recorded together with the version number and the time of approval.
16.3 Until you approve, the previous version continues to apply to you. To keep using the service you will need to approve the new version. If you do not agree to the new version, you may request deletion of your account at skify.app/en/delete-account or by email: [email protected].
17. Governing law and jurisdiction
17.1 These terms and your use of the service are governed by the laws of the State of Israel.
17.2 Any dispute will be heard by the court that has jurisdiction according to law.
17.3 If you are a consumer living outside Israel, this section does not deprive you of protection that the law of your country of residence gives you and that cannot be waived by agreement.
17.4 If there is a problem, we would appreciate it if you wrote to us first — most problems are solved that way. This is a request only, and it does not limit your right to go to court.
18. General
18.1 These terms, the Community Guidelines and the Privacy Policy together are the entire agreement between you and Skify regarding the service.
18.2 If any section is found to be void or unenforceable, the rest of the terms will continue to apply.
18.3 If Skify did not exercise a right in a particular case, that is not a waiver of the right.
18.4 Skify may transfer the service to another operator, provided that your rights under these terms and under the Privacy Policy are preserved. Skify will give notice of this in advance.
